A subscription is required to use Aerial Cal. There is no free tier, no advertising, and nothing is sold on by us. Individuals subscribe for themselves; businesses, universities and research groups are licensed by invoice.

Organisation licences are sold directly by Big R AG, LLC, not through an app store.
Universities & research
Free research licences.
Universities and research groups testing a spread of aircraft produce precisely the broad, competent data that makes a shared library worth reading. We licence that work free for a year, under a written agreement covering data, publication and attribution.
Results join the same de-identified pool as every other subscriber's. No institution is named, and no row is presented as more authoritative than another.
What we ask
- Calibrated devicesSame standard as everyone else — the camera check is not optional.
- Data sharing, agreed in writingSet out in the agreement rather than assumed, so your sponsored-programs office can review it properly.
- Honest feedbackTell us where the analysis is wrong. That is worth more to us than the licence fee.
Questions we actually get
Before you ask.
- Is there a free trial?
- There is no free tier. Whether a trial is offered at launch is still being decided — ask us and we will tell you where that landed.
- Can I buy it on the App Store today?
- Not yet. Aerial Cal currently runs in the browser and installs to your home screen; the native apps are in progress.
- How many devices do I get?
- Two per account. You can see them, remove one, or sign out everywhere from the account settings, so a new phone takes a few seconds rather than a support ticket.
- What happens if my licence lapses?
- You keep read-only access to your saved work for a period so you can export or print it. You cannot run new calibrations until the licence is renewed.
- Do you sell my data?
- No. We do not sell data, show advertising, or run third-party tracking or analytics. Community sharing is opt-in and de-identified.
- Can one licence cover my whole operation?
- That is what the organisation licence is. You assign seats by email address and reassign them whenever your crew changes.
